These richly illustrated video lectures take you on an in-depth exploration of the practical skill of viewing art.
Using timeless masterpieces of Western painting, sculpture, and graphic art, as well as hands-on studio demonstrations, Dr. Sharon Latchaw Hirsh, an internationally recognized scholar of Western European art, gives you the specific visual and interpretive knowledge you need to approach great artworks, find their deeper meanings, and reach startling new levels of appreciation. A handout accompanies each video lecture and we will have time for a 30 minute discussion of the material after the video. Each lecture stands on its own and can be enjoyed even if you have not attended previous lectures.
